Love Story has committed to supporting 70 soup kitchens in Gqeberha, which means thousands of children and elderly will be supported this year.

Gqeberha, South Africa (21 February 2023) – Love Story regularly fed up to 300 homeless people five times a week before the pandemic. That was just one of the initiatives the organisation had set up in the city since being formed in 2012 to help the needy.

Love Story is a non-profit organisation that seeks to meet the needs of the local community. They operate in and around Gqeberha and are involved in various projects, e.g. soup kitchens, creche support, clothing/toy distribution, hospital handouts, etc.

Love Story founder Elaine Watson used her network to bolster support when the pandemic hit. Since then, they have managed to feed thousands.

As we have gone back to regular life, things have remained tough for those living below the poverty line, Love Story has continued to provide for 70 soup kitchens. Not only do they supply the ingredients for food, they also supply the gas to cook the food.

“Love Story provides food ingredients and gas to 70 soup kitchens. These kitchens are run by community leaders who serve meals to thousands of people each week.

From the start of COVID in March 2020 we have served over 3,4 million meals. The majority of those who receive food are young children and seniors who cannot fend for themselves.”

You can change one life:

2. Become a monthly financial donor or make a once-off donation to help us purchase food for our communities.
