Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters has landed safely back in South Africa after winning the title. She has been touring the world and SA is glad to finally have her home for a while.
South Africa’s Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters landed back home earlier this morning. She flew in from New York to come and celebrate her new title Miss Universe with her home country.
Her mother was over-the-moon with excitement the moment Demi-Leigh stepped through the arrival gate. Demi-Leigh was accompanied by the Minister of Women in the Presidency Susan Shabangu. It was a proud moment for all and the airport filled with cheers as Miss Universe was welcomed home.
While in South Africa, Demi-Leigh has a jam-packed schedule but she is definitely planning to make a stop off in her hometown. Sedgefield, on the Garden Route, has planned a massive parade this Sunday (28th of January) to welcome Demi-Leigh home.
“Welcome to Miss Universe! I must say that as South Africans we are very proud. We are here to welcome our beautiful lady. We have one of the most intelligent ladies in South Africa. We wish you all the best. You have represented us so well. It’s very key now that the voice of women is taking a front seat,” – Susan Shabangu.
Demi-Leigh will be in South Africa for one week and has a few stops along the way. We will keep you updated on all the good things she gets up to while at home.
