pop-up shop

Forgood is an online platform that connects ordinary people to reputable causes, now they have launched SA’s very first cause-based online pop-up shop!

Forgood is all about connecting people to the most reputable causes and charities in South Africa. From getting the elderly involved with volunteering to utilising people with specific skills that will benefit a cause or charity in need.

Their latest innovation is a cause-based online pop-up shop! The pop-up shop is curated with items that are directly linked to various causes. Each item sold funds a project that benefits local communities, organisations and individuals.

For example, we purchased some of the Organic Loose Leaf tea’s which will directly benefit the Siyaphila Youth Support Services and their community development programmes. The programmes seek to address the socio-economic challenges that the youth and women in South Africa are faced with.

All the products on the forgood Pop-Up Store come with a healthy dose of feel-good… Every purchase generates revenue for our Causes, helping them create more social impact.

Other causes being supported include: Feeding the Furballs, The Zevenfontein Educational Fund, The Manger Care Centre, Rare Diseases South Africa and The Kainav Conservation Foundation to name a few. This is what they do for South Africa,

  • Feeding the Furballs is a registered Public Beneficiary Organisation in KZN, striving to provide rescue animals and rescue organisations with food and supplies.
  • The Zevenfontein Educational Fund has been operating in the informal settlements, west of Randburg since 1997. The Fund helps children who cannot afford to go to school by providing them with school uniforms, stationery, school fees and funding school outings.
  • The Manger Care Centre gives hope by providing psychological, spiritual guidance and emotional upliftment, striving to make the most destitute and vulnerable people feel that they are valuable and worthwhile members of society. The Centre runs various programmes that provide feeding, clothing, skills development, employment opportunities, post-rehabilitation services and housing for their beneficiaries.
  • Rare Diseases South Africa creates awareness and provides practical aid to individuals and families affected with rare health disorders.
  • The Kainav Conservation Foundation is a team of volunteers, environmental researchers and community members who conduct regular anti-snare patrols in different natural areas and reserves throughout the Gauteng Province. The Foundation teams identify, remove and destroy any snares, traps and other equipment used to poach and illegally harvest wildlife and plants. If an animal is found alive in a snare or trap, the team works closely with conservation officials and veterinarians to free and/or care for the injured animals.Confiscated snares and traps are used to teach local communities and other members of the public about poaching and the importance of a healthy environment.

You can take a look at the pop-up shop here. All the ‘feel-good’ items list the causes they support and what the cause does with the funds from your purchase. The pop-up shop is only available until the end of July.
