United States of America (06 February 2023) – Nomcebo Zikode, Wouter Kellerman and Zakes Bantwini have won the 2023 Grammy award for Best Global Music Performance for their collaboration Bayethe.

Kellerman has received 4 Grammy nominations but this was his second win. He collaborated with platinum-selling ‘King of Dance’ groovesmith Zakes Bantwini and South African songbird of the #1 international hit ‘Jerusalema’ Nomcebo Zikode.

The song, ‘Bayethe’ is a beautiful song with a very special meaning. The song asks for the lightening of our loads and the bringing of peace and happiness, something we can all do with.

Speaking about the song, Nomcebo Zikode says she was excited to collaborate with Wouter and Zakes. Zakes went on to call the song “a soundtrack of my life.”

Wouter was incredibly thankful to share South African music with the world.

“Thank you so much. This is such a beautiful moment, on the road to sharing South African music and culture with the world. Thank you Nomcebo, thank you Zakes for your incredible creativity. Thanks to Tholsi Pillay my manager and friend who stood with me. Thanks to JB and all the musicians who worked on the album. Thanks to you all my peers who’ve supported us I’ll never forget it.”
