How do you ask Ed Sheeran to open for his South African leg of his tour? You sing to him… Obvs.

Rubber Duc have just released a mash-up of Ed Sheeran songs in the hopes that he might see it and ask them to open for his South Africa leg of his tour.

The fresh South African four-piece band are made up of Nick Jordaan, Brendan Campbell, Sheldon Sham and Amiel Gopal. The DUC sound is fun and authentic, with cheerful, catchy melodies and clever lyrics that stick in your mind and songs that make you want to dance.

And they are no strangers to creating mash-ups and covers of international artists.

The DUCS have entertained fans with their renditions of covers from the likes of Taylor Swift, Adele and their most popular cover ‘Sledgehammer’ from Fifth Harmony, which has had over 180,000 views on YouTube. Camilla Cabello from the girl group raved about it on Twitter and called it “amazeballs”.

The new Ed mash-up features four of his hit songs; Castle On The Hill, Shape Of You, Bloodstream and Don’t.

“Ed Sheeran is coming to South Africa and we couldn’t think of a better way to pay tribute to the legend but to add some South African flavour to several of his hits!”

Ed Sheeran will be performing in South Africa in March 2019. The heartthrob will be visiting both Johannesburg and Cape Town, treating everyone to his love songs and biggest hits from his latest album divide.
