One of the country’s most exciting carolling events will kick off the festive vibes on 4 December in Pretoria, with all proceeds from ticket sales going towards Santa’s Shoebox!
Johannesburg, South Africa (17 November 2025) – The festive vibes are coming in strong. SPAR Carols by Candlelight with Jacaranda FM has made its way back just in time for the ho-ho-holidays!
On 4 December, thousands of South Africans will get together to ring in the festive season with song at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria, and live online via Jacaranda, for all families who can’t make it.
SA’s favourites are going to be there to lead all of the best Christmas hits. Ndlovu Youth Choir, Jesse Clegg, Lloyd Cele, Elandré, Lee Cole, Zoë Modiga, Ruan du Toit and Charlize Berg will light up the stage.
As one of SA’s most beloved carols nights, it’s going to be a dose of feel-good Christmas cheer and an all-round lekker way to kick off holiday celebrations. Back by popular demand is this year’s theme, Home for Christmas. It honours that warm feeling of togetherness the festive season brings.
And it’s not a festive event if it doesn’t celebrate the spirit of giving!
All proceeds from ticket sales will go towards Santa’s Shoebox, an organisation that started on Christmas almost 20 years ago. That December, 180 humble shoeboxes were gifted to those who needed them most. Today, over one million more have been gifted, and the organisation works to create lasting change across communities in SA.
“Seeing families come together to sing, smile, and give back truly captures what the festive season is all about. Knowing that every ticket sold helps bring joy to a child through Santa’s Shoebox makes it all the more meaningful. It’s the kind of feel-good magic we love to be part of,” says Vuyani Dombo, Managing Director at Jacaranda FM.
“Every year, we’re reminded how special it is when families, friends, and neighbours come together to share in joy and make a bigger impact to those in need,” shares Maxine D’Amico, Advertising and Promotions Manage at SPAR Inland.
To keep the festive spirit alive, the event will be rebroadcast all day on 24 December via Jacaranda, just in time for Christmas Eve.
