SA Chefs

South African food culture is growing at a wonderful rate and it is always a great day when our SA chefs make it big on the international stage!

Best Chef is an award that goes to 300 of the best chefs in the world and the selections are made by the chefs themselves. To create the top 300 list over 350 chefs are selected globally. Selection takes place through research and reporting that the award curators receive from various industry professionals.

The Best Chef awards are positioning and imposing themselves into the digital world as one of the first groups dedicated to serving only the greatest of chefs globally.

They have grown their team of professionals – who are mutually respected by the chefs – and all of their passion and hard work has paid off to attract a dedicated circle of culinary food-lovers.

Among the 300 are 3 proudly South African chefs. One of those chefs is Peter Tempelhoff who, once again, is making South Africa proud. The Executive Chef of Greenhouse Restaurant has placed 134th in the world selection for the top 300 Best Chef awards.

The list is being considered highly prestigious. Competing against chefs from Japan, Italy, France and beyond, our SA chefs are making us incredibly proud!

Other SA chefs on the list include Chantel Dartnall who came in 79th and Michael Deg who came in 272nd.

We are incredibly proud of our chefs and can’t wait to more from them.
