DJ Snow has turned “Easy on Me” by Adele into a banging Summer track that global Tiktokkers are using as their new favourite sound!
Western Cape, South Africa (17 October 2021) – After a 5-year break, Adele released a new song on Friday breaking the record on Spotify for the most global streams in one day but it’s a local DJ that seems to have taken the song to the next level.
Yes, “Easy on Me” was being played everywhere, with some South African radio stations featuring the song over 6 times, but it was Spotify users who pushed it to the max, listening to the song almost 21 million times in just one day. The music video on Youtube had over 18 million views on the same day.
It seems Adele was missed; perhaps after the last 18 months, we’ve needed a good cry.
But DJ Snow SA – a South African DJ from the Western Cape – has been going viral globally as well for his remix of the song!
The DJ (Shaun Simons), heard the song, saw the hype and knew that he wanted to remix it!
“I saw all the hype on the social media platforms with the new release coming today, so I actually went on to Adele’s YouTube channel to listen and to hear if it would be a nice, catchy song with a nice chorus that all the people could sing along to,” DJ Snow told the African News Agency (ANA) on Friday.
“Then I started to fit it to a beat that I made, to hear if it would work. After that, I put up a preview on TikTok to see how the people would react, and I was quite surprised to get so much feedback on it that I decided that I will finish the track.”
His remix has spawned hundreds of videos on TikTok garnering thousands of views. And it seems the sad song, has become a proper little dance track.
