Jacqueline Grobler has worked hard to build up a brand of artisanal spirits. Recently she won 4 International awards for distilling craft Gins.
Jacqueline Grobler is a homegrown success! She founded the company Angel Heart Beverages which focuses on distilling craft spirits. It all started in her garage 7 years ago when her husband started building a copper still. From there it has been hard work and dedication which has lead to her success!
“It’s a challenge, but as an entrepreneur you have to be able to wear multiple hats, and wear them well! I am super self-critical but very creative at the same time. I will work on the development of a new product until I am completely satisfied; 90% is never good enough for me.”
“I believe this is the reason why every product we launch is unique and adventurous. We also always keep a sense of humour about what we do – after all alcohol has a remarkable way of touching people, making them relax and giving them an individual experience.” – Jacqueline Grobler
Jacqueline created the Ginifer Gin and Westcliff Gin both of which have won awards at the American Distilling Institute’s (ADI) craft spirits competition. The gins were tasted among other South African brands in a blind tasting. The judges were blown away by the beauty of Jacqueline’s craft!
The decision was unanimous and Ginifer was awarded the Silver Medal: International Contemporary Grain-to-Glass Gin.
Ginifer Chilli Infused Gin walked away with two awards – The Best of Category Award – International Signature Botanical/Flavoured Gin and the Silver Medal: International Signature Botanical/Flavoured Gin.
Westcliff was awarded a Bronze Medal in the category best International Contemporary Gin.
This is an amazing achievement, not only for the brand but for a South African woman standing out in a male dominated industry that is run by corporate giants!
