7-year-old Elijah Swartz took his love of people, a natural love of speaking and expressing himself in different ways and a kind nurturing heart that genuinely wants to help people through telling stories and started a youtube channel to help parents and kids get through lockdown!
Johannesburg, South Africa (25 January 2021) – A bubbly, vibrant 7-year-old boy with a passion for animals and a spirit that wants to explore, try new things and have lots of fun has started a youtube channel to showcase South Africa to the world!
7-year-old Elijah Swartz took his love of people, a natural love of speaking and expressing himself in different ways and a kind nurturing heart that genuinely wants to help people through telling stories and started a youtube channel to help parents and kids get through lockdown! Elijah has an abundance of energy, and like any 7-year-old, finding new and interesting ways to expend that energy can be a challenge for parents, add over 300 days of a lockdown, and that challenge becomes amplified!
Elijah’s parents started exploring new and different ways to explore Gauteng – the province in which they live – and noticed that Elijah started asking for their phones to record the experiences they were embarking on. The filming of experiences then evolved into a documenting of his days, with him adding entertaining voice-overs of his experiences and looping his cousins and friends into the fun, depending on who was around.
The young South African is an avid follower of other youtube child influencers his age and decided that he too would like to make a positive difference in other kids lives through his own curated and crafted content. As a result of this, on a November 2020 morning he drew a rainbow on a piece of paper, underpinned with the words “Stay and Play with Elijah”, cut it out and stuck it on a white t-shirt and went to tell his parents that he created a logo for his youtube channel (that hadn’t existed yet). This enthusiasm and drive amused his parents, and they decided to humour his request and forged ahead with allowing him to have posted content online, in order to connect with others and share knowledge about the places he has been.
The youtube channel was officially launched on 17 January 2021 and has since seen a documenting of Elijah’s visits to bounce at Fourways Mall, Adventure Golf, The Slope at Cedar Square, a visit to the Upside Down House in Hartbeespoort Dam and the most recent addition being the Crocodile and Reptile Park. He also showcases fun experiments and games to do at home, with a new video being added every 2nd day.
Off to an exciting start, in the first 3 days of Elijah’s channel launch, he garnered over 300 organic views and currently has 32 subscribers and a number of views on the content that has been posted over the past week. The channel is helpful for moms and dads who are looking for new and interesting things to do with kids, and Elijah’s positivity and sense of adventure will put anyone in a good mood.
