The Grace Factory Vaal is busy packing 300 care packs to go to new mothers in government hospitals; they desperately need items of clothing for the packs.

Vaal, South Africa (30 January 2023) – 300 new moms will soon be gifted a valuable care pack filled with goodies every new mom could use. These packs go to moms at government hospitals, many of whom will have very little. Each pack contains essentials for both mom and baby, along with clothing, a blanket, toiletries and nappies.

The Vaal franchise of The Grace Factory has started its first drive for 2023 by making up 300 packs. Things are going well but they have a shortage of newborn 0 – 3 months clothing and are asking the public for help.

“We will be packing 300 maternity packs for vulnerable mothers and babies in need and we are in quite urgent need of newborn/0-3month vests, baby grows, leggings, jerseys as well as receiving blankets (gently used items greatly welcomed).

Are you looking for something meaningful to do as a school, club, organisation, place of worship, business or team? You could host a drive for us? Getting all your people to give back by donating just 1 baby blanket or babygrow. We need all the help and support out there.

Please consider donating your excess preloved clothing your baby has outgrown or you can even commit to purchasing a blanket and babygrow or two. Every one item donated helps us achieve our goal.

You can drop off your donations at our collection points in Vanderbijlpark or Three Rivers.”

The organisation works hard to make sure every baby has something warm to wear and a warm blanket to stay cosy in. Donors have played a vital role in helping them touch as many little lives as possible.

The Grace Factory is an NPO that gives practical assistance to moms and babies in need during the first few weeks of motherhood and infancy.

Most of the items for the packs come from either direct donations or purchased from funds raised. Keeping a good stock of these items is essential for the Grace Factory to keep new moms and newborns stocked with their own essentials.

The Grace Factory has several drop-off points that allow people to donate baby goods. These often come in the shape of homemade blankets and beanies, toiletries and even toys.

Second-hand items and handmade items are always welcomed, please just make sure the items have been washed recently and are in good condition.

If you have any items to share, you can find your nearest collection point here.
