“Americans will have to learn about the word Voetsek today.”

Johannesburg, South Africa (27 April 2021) – South Africans on TikTok have taken to the comments section of a video going viral to defend Trevor Noah.

Over the years, we have noticed a trend with stories featuring both Trevor Noah and Charlize Theron, where many South Africans are really nasty about the celebrities in the comments sections. It is incredibly bizarre but something that we are cognizant of and always ready for when publishing articles about either of them.

But this time, it seems that South Africans are defending Noah in a video that is going viral on TikTok.

Doug Romeo shared a video on his profile to let everyone know that Trevor Noah is the celebrity he hates the most in the world. He starts the video by saying that the comedian came to America “looking for a better life, was provided one and now speaks badly about the new country he is living in”. He goes on to say that Noah is actually the problem as he has “never struggled in the USA”.

But South Africans are not having it and have taken to the comments section “to school” the angry man. The video has had over 4,000 comments from South Africans mostly telling him to “voetsek”.
