The Volunteer Wildfire Services hosted a very successful quiz night to raise funds for equipment to get through the next wildfire season.
Noordhoek, South Africa (12 June 2024) – We love a good fundraiser, especially when the community comes together to make it happen. The community of Noordhoek and its surrounds came together to support the Volunteer Wildfire Services’ quiz night, and they sold it out! Not only that, they managed to raise a good amount of money for the team of volunteers
The quiz night was a fun way to bring the community together and raise funds for equipment needed to protect the volunteer firefighters during wildfires.
“We are over the moon with the success of our VWS Quiz Night held at cafe Roux , Noordhoek last week! Thanks to all of you, the event was completely sold out, and we raised substantial funds through raffle sales and the auction.
The night was filled with happy faces and thrilled winners of amazing prizes. We owe a big thank you to everyone who donated prizes – your generosity made a huge impact. But the real winners are our VWS team, as these funds will help us equip our firefighters for battling wildfires on the mountains.
Whether you donated prizes, bought raffle tickets, bid on auction items, attended the event, or simply supported us with your presence and spirit, we are deeply grateful. Thank you for making this night unforgettable!”
The funds will go a long way to supporting the team when wildfire season rolls around again. The volunteers are based in Newlands, South Peninsula, Stellenbosch, and Helderberg. The VWS is the largest volunteer firefighting organisation in South Africa and is driven by a team of fiercely passionate volunteers.
