The sudden cold and rain left many unprepared, One SMALL Act of Kindness got a pot of porridge on the go to warm the bellies of those who faced the elements.

Randburg, South Africa (11 April 2024) – One SMALL Act of Kindness based in Johannesburg, works to support people most in need. They provide meals to the vulnerable people living on the streets each week from giant pots loaded into a trailer. They recently did a batch of porridge after a very chilly and wet night.

One Small Act of Kindness was created and started from an idea on a Sunday night to help and assist communities and places that are missed or not assisted by other organisations. With more help and assistance from the communities, these places would be able to run a little more smoothly and assist or reach more than they are currently.

The aim is to assist old age homes, community foster homes, animal welfare, townships, locations, underprivileged nursery schools, and the homeless as well as shelters.

It is becoming clear that the cold is setting in sooner this year and just like many charitable organisations, OSARK will be bringing their winter campaigns forward in an effort to stay ahead of the cold which seems to be creeping in sooner this year. They are needing to collect 580 blankets for the upcoming winter. They will launch the campaign soon, so stay tuned to Facebook here.

You can send in warm clothing, soup ingredients, porridge ingredients and blankets to help them help the destitute, through winter.

The organisation works tirelessly to support these men and women, giving them the opportunity to get through each day with a little extra kindness.
