Beyoncé opened the Oscars with an unforgettable performance.

Global (28 March 2022) – Beyoncé opened the 94th Academy Awards with a performance of the Oscar-nominated song, “Be Alive,” at the Tragniew Park Tennis Courts in Compton, California, with appearances by Blue Ivy Carter, King Richard actresses, Saniyya Sidney and Demi Singleton, and the Compton Cowboys Junior Equestrians.

‘Be Alive’ was the first single released from the soundtrack to King Richard (2021), a biopic about Richard Williams, the father of tennis stars Venus and Serena. Will Smith, who stars as Richard, told Entertainment Weekly that Beyoncé was inspired to write the song after attending an early screening of the film.
