Over 40 dogs came together for Woodrock Animal Rescue’s largest social of the year, showing why calm guidance, structure, and trust are key to building balanced, confident pets.
South Africa (07 January 2026) – At Woodrock Animal Rescue, no two days are ever the same, but one day this year stood out as truly special. James, one of the shelter’s dedicated team members, led what he calls his “social of the year,” bringing together 40 dogs of every shape, size, and personality. From pups to calm, older dogs, every tail wagged in excitement as the team guided them through structured socialisation exercises.
The dogs learn how to read each other, build confidence, release energy in a healthy way, and move through the world more balanced and secure. You can watch the moment here.
As a leading non-profit animal rescue in Gauteng, South Africa, Woodrock is home to over 500 animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, donkeys, goats, chickens, and pigs. Each animal receives rehabilitation, enrichment, and care tailored to their needs, helping them recover from trauma, neglect, or abandonment.
Socialisation at Woodrock isn’t optional; it’s part of daily life. Structured sessions teach dogs how to interact safely with others, develop social skills, and build trust in both humans and fellow animals. This preparation goes far beyond the kennel, laying the foundation for successful adoptions and lasting family bonds.
James’ social of the year showed the incredible difference proper care and attention can make. Every dog left the session more confident, calmer, and ready for life in a forever home.
