Our Cuzzie, Barry Hilton, recently shared some life advice that is going viral for all the right reasons!
Johannesburg, South Africa (23 April 2022) – Cause sometimes even our Cuzzie can even be serious!
With a track record of 30 years in comedy, Barry Hilton has raised the world’s laughter level considerably. His delightful knack for finding the ludicrous and the humorous turns daily situations on their head to make us laugh at life. His face is as funny as his repartee, with lugubrious looks tailor-made for mirth. Hilton’s gregarious personality makes him a people’s person, happy to engage with the audience before and after his shows.
Hilton is a seasoned comedian who’s as streetwise as any youngster. He’s remained at the top by continually coming up with fresh material – and by having six children to keep him hip and happening.
He recently shared a post on Facebook with a life lesson about following your dreams.
Read it below:
Before I was a comedian, I was an electrician.
I was also miserable.
No hate towards electricians – it just wasn’t who I was meant to be.
The only reason I did it, was because when I was younger my dad told me I wasn’t funny.
All I wanted to do was make people laugh.
But just like that, with those three words –
You’re. Not. Funny.
My dreams were crushed.
I know the man loved me and was just trying to protect me from a life of possible poverty…
But all it did was make me doubt myself and turn me into a person I hated.
When I eventually started nurturing my passion and developing my talent, I started seeing the light again.
And look what happened. I found success.
There is always a risk involved in following your dreams –
Disappointment
Failure
Poverty
But the risk of not following them is so much greater.
Don’t settle for a life of regret because one person said you can’t do it.
Life’s too short to not even try.
