bully South Africa stop bullying

South Africans are standing up against bullying, after a teenager’s video threatening to “escort a 14 year old to the grave” has gone viral.

The video had 150 000 views in a short time after being uploaded.

It showed a young girl using vulgar language while threatening a 14-year-old named “Lauren” who allegedly attends Groote Schuur High School, in Cape Town.

About halfway through the clip, she warns Lauren, that the bully would be waiting for her, on return to school on the first day of the new term. The mean girl warns the victim that she knows where she lives, revealing that her step-grandmother is a police officer.

She ends the clip suggesting the victim gets police to escort her home, or she’ll assist her by, escorting her to her grave.

Immediately, South African’s started leaving thousands of comments, all disagreeing with the behaviour and stating that the bully should publicly apologise.

Aden Thomas from Heart FM spoke to the aunt of the 14-year-old victim being bullied.

The girl’s aunt told Thomas that the bullies had been sending voice notes and messages to the victim before the video was made or went viral.

The bully has not commented or been seen again but the “good thing” here is how the community have responded. South Africa have responded with a resounding no. They will not stand for this or allow anyone else to be bullied.

Christa DP posted straight after: “This is disgusting no level of explanations or reasons can ever justify why a teenager behaving like this.Where are the parents this is the future you have raised I truely hope this girl will be punished within the full extent of the law .Kids should be taught to be held responsible for their own actions.how else will they become responsible adults”

Nazli Williams commented: “Your future Bombed, all because “Lauren” needed to know you have a big ass and fleeky eyebrows… Little girl, don’t you see what you have done? This video is out. Out for the whole world to see. Forever. You cannot explain this away to your future employers, your future husband (let’s not forget busy in laws), your future children… who wants to deal with or be associated with the person in this video? You thought you were bullying “Lauren”, but see what you have done? You have just shot Future You (and current You) in the foot (or should i say in the ass and eyebrows?) Ai meisiekind”

Nadia Matthews added: “This is extremely disturbing. The language, the audacity, the vulgarity. We need to do more to stop this and protect our children. Too many kids are being traumatized and end up committing suicide as they feel there’s no way out.”

Diane Forbes-Wilson posted: “How sad. …Sad that she would make a video and be completely ignorant that there’s a remote possibility that it could go viral. Sad that she has given no thought to the consequences and repercussions of her threats. Sad that she thinks outer beauty puts her in a position to be an ugly bully and put someone down. Sad that in her stupid little head she is perfect. This kind of behaviour is disgusting and will follow her for the rest of her life. I hope she can live with the ridicule hereafter.”

Jennilee Seconna added: “Her parents should take her to the girl she is bullying make a video of her apologising and post that. Not only will the girl feel embarrassed and ashamed but also a lesson would be learnt.”

Since the video went viral, it has been deleted off most sites. Aden Thomas, who originally uploaded the video onto his Facebook early on Tuesday morning… deleted it after a couple of hours (and almost a million views later).

The girl and her sister have also apparently been suspended from school pending an investigation.

  1. Shame on you! It is totaly unacceptable. Such vulgarity to be coming out of a 16 year old’s mouth. Disgusted!!

    1. She needs to be shown a documentary whereby students commit suicide because of bullying and asked if she wants to have that hanging over her head for the rest of her life? She clearly has absolutely no idea how serious the consequences of her actions can be.

  2. Bullying is a choice. It is not caused by something that the victim said or did. 14 years old and she thinks she knows it all. Take responsibility for your actions little girl. There is always consequences to your actions. Before you act, make sure you’re prepared for them. Good luck to you.

  4. Her parents need to take full responsibility and have her rehabilitated. Such disgusting behaviour is not normal.

      #Im in Gr7

  5. Please note that calling this girl stupid and assumming you know her life makes you no better than her. Bullying her wont make it right. Retribution should be the consequence not revenge. Lets not forget she is a child. Lets respond and not react.

  6. I have a ten year old and it scares me that this type of abuse might be what my daughter is awaiting in four years .
