Dan Mace, a South African Youtuber living in New York created the most epic video asking South Africa, and the world who we really are?

“Hey.. Who are you? Like in a casual way.. who are you actually?”

The Youtuber is known for his brilliant videos showcasing all sorts of themes but this one made us all feel incredibly proudly South African… and more so proudly human.

The new video titled “Humankind” showcases over 100 filmmakers from 100 places around the world, all asking the same question while telling the story of Humankind.

“In a world of organized chaos, chaos organized… to keep you from imagining a world that hasn’t been advertised. Characterised not by your disguise but loved for what’s inside.”

From Cape Town to Finland, to Malaysia and the USA… the video starts right at the beginning of a person’s day and ends as they switch off the lights. But more than just the beautiful shots from around the world, it shows that we are all connected and more so disconnected at the same time.

The video ends off leaving us all with a question of “Who we are” but more so a task.

It explains that we are divine, that we are love and that we only have one life. Perhaps then everyday as we grow older, we should be the best possible versions of ourselves. Whoever that may be.

“Make change, before its to late. The smallest gestures are where change begins. Therefore make them great.

Now ask yourself.. Who am I… really? And what are you going to do with that to make change.

By doing that… you’ve just started.”
