One of the most subscribed YouTubers in the world took time out of his schedule to roast Jacob Zuma.

Global – It’s become the number 1 trending Youtube video of the week, and an absolute embarrassment for South Africa’s ex-President.

PewDiePie, one of the most-subscribed users on YouTube, has made a video about South Africa which has been bouncing between the top 5 videos on the streaming channel for the past week.

Born in Gothenburg, Sweden, Kjellberg initially pursued a degree in industrial economics and technology management at the Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg. In 2010, during his time at the university, he registered a YouTube account under the name PewDiePie. The following year, he dropped out of Chalmers after losing interest in his degree field, much to the dismay of his parents. After failing to earn an apprenticeship with an advertising agency in Scandinavia, he then decided to focus on creating content for his YouTube channel. To fund his videos, Kjellberg began selling prints of his Photoshop art projects and worked at a hot dog stand. Kjellberg soon gathered a rapidly increasing online following, and in July 2012, his channel surpassed one million subscribers.

On 15 August 2013, Kjellberg became the most-subscribed user on YouTube, being briefly surpassed in late 2013 by YouTube Spotlight and several times in early 2019 by Indian record label T-Series. From 29 December 2014 to 14 February 2017, Kjellberg’s channel was the most-viewed YouTube channel.

As of June 2019, the channel has received over 96 million subscribers and 21 billion video views, ranking as the second-most subscribed and eleventh-most viewed on the platform.

And PewDiePie has dedicated an entire 11-minute video on roasting South Africa’s ex-President.

In the video, the social media celebrity unpacks how difficult numbers are for Zuma, and also how his facts about Geography don’t quite match up.

South Africans have taken to the comments section to discuss how grateful they are that Zuma is no longer in power (and to roast him even more).

Ane Janse van Rensburg posted: “I’m dead! You’re number 1 on trending in South Africa, and all of this is so true!”

Editing With Sarah commented: “Finally, we made it through South Africa!!!”

Riaz Bapoo added: “As a South African. I just wanna say that you’ve missed out on 9 years of material. The man was a comedic gold mine!”

The video has had over 4 million views since being uploaded on the 4 June 2019 and keeps bouncing around in the top 5 global trending videos.
