Jacques Pauw secures venue for Cape Town launch after government try to stop him

Author and Investigative journalist Jacques Pauw has finally secured a Cape Town venue for his book launch after government tried to stop him.

Investigative journalist Jacques Pauw released a book exposing the darkest secret at the heart of Jacob Zuma’s compromised government: a cancerous cabal that eliminates the president’s enemies and purges the law-enforcement agencies of good men and women.

And the book cannot stay on shelves as South Africans have rushed to get their own copy. The first 20,000 copies of The President’s Keepers sold out within days of being released and then tens-of-thousands of additional books have been flying off the shelves ever since.

The President’s Keepers was officially launched at Hyde Park Corner shopping centre last Wednesday evening where a mysterious power cut took place during the launch. There have also been various talks of the book being “banned” and Pauw being prosecuted but nothing has been confirmed as yet.

Attempts to suppress the distribution of the book have backfired spectacularly as every effort seems to make the book more news worthy, with more South Africans wanting to get their hands on a copy.

This time, it seems that government tried to intervene by not allowing Pauw to use a school for his Cape Town book launch but luckily another venue came on board to assist.

The new venue can only accommodate 600 people so NB Publishers sent an email with the new details to those that had pre-registered for the event.

The author took to Facebook earlier today to break the news:

“The Cape Town launch of The President Keepers.”

“It’s been quite a thing to get a venue for the launch. Exclusives Books was too small and we moved the event to Rondebosch Boys High. The school was initially concerned about security and we arranged for more. Then, at the last minute, the school cancelled.”

“The education department has ruled: no way will you launch that book in our school.”

“But we have a venue. See you there!”

As the Cape Town book launch is already fully booked (even with the bigger venue) they have made an opportunity available where locals can meet Jacques Pauw and have a book signed at the grand re-opening of Exclusive Books Cavendish Square on Thursday 16 November from 18:00. To attend that event, please RSVP on events@exclusivebooks.co.za.
