Robert Mugabe

While the world is waiting with bated breath to hear the outcome of Robert Mugabe, we’ve decided to take a look back at his most famous fall and the funny memes that were created from it.

Zimbabwe is in a pretty exciting stage of its independence. Robert Mugabe led the country to independence in 1965 and he became the first (and only) ruling Prime Minister, he then became the president in 1988.

Robert has been making headlines for decades and in 2015 he was ranked as the third worst leader in Africa!

This has all changed recently as the current Zimbabwean president was put under house arrest after a successful coup. Just last night Robert was urged to resign but has not done so as of yet. He has been given until 12 pm today to come to a final decision.

We thought that while we wait for Robert Mugabe to fall from power we would review one of the most popular images of him to date. His fall back in 2015 and all the hilarious photoshopped images that popped up after the fact.

Did you know that the photographers were instructed to delete the images? That didn’t stop them from going viral though. Robert was not hurt during the tumble so we feel a little less guilty for having a giggle at his expense. What we absolutely loved is the creativity of the people on the internet! Some of these images are pure genius.

Here are some of our absolute favourite pictures
