Coronavirus infections are rising day-by-day which is stressful but we are happy to see that the first recoveries are also happening, this is good news!
South Africa (20 March 2020) – The coronavirus stats rise every day, and Minister of Health, Dr Zwelini Mkhize expects that the number will reach over 200 today but thankfully, we can celebrate the first recoveries today too!
He expects that it could affect 60% of the population which is why continued support of the new rules and restrictions is vital. Remaining self-isolated where possible and avoiding travel should be top priorities for all South Africans that are able to do so.
Despite the stress surrounding the infection rate and potential rise, Minister of Health, Dr Zwelini Mkhize also confirmed that they will soon be reporting recovery numbers.
“We are pleased to also inform the public that we are now seeing recoveries of previously reported COVID-19 cases. We are in the process of conducting further confirmation tests and medical examinations then we formally inform the public on the numbers of recoveries. At this stage, most of the patients are recovering well.” – Dr Zwelini Mkhize, Minister of Health
While the actual number is not released at the time of writing this, there is news that there are recoveries. That is all we can hope for at this time. We hope and pray each day that any person found to have the virus, that they recover well.
As soon as the numbers are released, we will update the article and continue to do so going forward.
