ASF’s aim is to use adaptive sports and adventure activities as a platform to enrich, encourage, motivate and build confidence and self-belief for people with disabilities.

The organisation believes that securing adaptive sporting equipment will allow people with disabilities the opportunity to experience freedom, the environment, independence, adrenalin and the satisfaction that sport and adventure activities has to offer.

ASF recently manufactured their first adaptive snow sit-ski prototype. This sit-ski enables people with mobility impairment the opportunity to experience snow skiing.

Normally this equipment costs around R60 000, now they are locally manufacturing them at a fraction of the cost. This means they’ll be able to build multiple ski’s which will enable many differently abled individuals to experience this unique and adrenaline filled sport.

“Our organization will be responsible for taking a group of differently abled individuals to Lesotho on a yearly bases. We’ll expose them to adaptive skiing, which under their normal circumstances wouldn’t be possible. Our NPO is striving to bring adaptive sports to all people living with disabilities.”

“We have successfully rolled out various adaptive sports programs which includes adaptive wake boarding, adaptive golf and adaptive go-karting.”

Using social media platforms, ASF hopes to inspire and motivate others to get involved in various adaptive sports. Whether it be water skiing, scuba diving, para-gliding or off-road hand-cycling; we are continuously driven in creating much needed awareness for people with disabilities.

Disabled Snow Skiing is now possible in Africa
