2017 has structured our April public holidays in such a way that if you put in just 8 days leave, you could get almost 3 weeks of holiday… You know, to relive the December holidays again.

South Africa (15 January 2017) – South Africa we need to talk… not sure why the holiday gods have done this again or if the economy is going to survive another 3 weeks away from the office but there is a massive possibility that South African businesses will be closing doors for 18 days of holiday in the first quarter of this 2017.

Taking eight days’ leave in April will get you a whopping 18-day holiday when combined with the weekends and public holidays.

We’re going to go out on a limb here & tell you to put that application in NOW because there are going to be many South Africans jumping at this opportunity.

April Holidays

The dates on which Good Friday and Easter Sunday fall are determined according to the ecclesiastical moon. That varies each year but they usually fall at some point between late March and late April.

Good Friday falls on the 14 April this year with ‘Family Day’ on the 17 April. Freedom Day on 27 April which this year is a Thursday, while Workers Day on the 1st of May is a Monday.

By taking leave from the 18 to 21 April and then again from the 24 to 26 April and one more day on the 28 April, you will be out of the office from Friday the 14th April to Tuesday the 2 May – 18 days in total.

And that’s it… we’ve literally given you the tools to take just 8 days leave in 2017 & be away from the office for 18 consecutive days!

You’re welcome 🙂
