So Donald Trump thinks Meryl Streep is over-rated… ummm, thats not what he said in this 2015 interview.

Donald Trump responded to Meryl Streep as everyone expected him too but no one seems to remember the interview where he praised her for her work.

Meryl Streep recently slammed Donald Trump at the 2017 Golden Globes, by referencing a moment during a rally when he seemed to mimic a disabled reporter.

“This instinct to humiliate, when it’s modeled by someone in the public platform, by someone powerful, it filters down into everybody’s life, because it kinda gives permission for other people to do the same thing,” she said.

“Disrespect invites disrespect, violence incites violence. And when the powerful use their position to bully others, we all lose.”

Trump responded in a series of Twitter rants which sparked off an entire social media debate about the President-Elect and Hollywood star.

But on the 19 August, 2015, Janice Min interviewed Donald Trump for The Hollywood Reporter and asked him various questions, with one in particular that taking centre stage now…

“Any actress you love?” Janice asked.

“Julia Roberts is terrific, and many others. Meryl Streep is excellent; she’s a fine person, too. The problem is I’ll name three or four or five and then the hundred that I know will be insulted, and I don’t mean to insult them.” Donald Trump replied.

Streep’s fall from the top two out of 100 actresses Trump loves to “one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood” is an odd drop for the actress. Particularly given that Streep has done little to tarnish her legacy since 2015 aside from being nominated for an Oscar for Into the Woods, a Golden Globe for Florence Foster Jenkins, and picking up an honorary Globe for lifetime achievement.

Meanwhile the internet have spoken and they will not let Trump get away with insulting Streep.
