Alexandra philanthropist and community Linda Twala is raising funds to take 100 Gogos from Alexandra to the coast this festive season!
Could you imagine living an entire life never having left your hometown? For many South Africans, this is a reality. Linda Twala, a philanthropist and community leader from Alexandra in Johannesburg wants to change this for 100 Gogos.
Linda has decided to help 100 Gogos from his community and take them on a holiday of their dreams this festive season. He has already sponsored 25 of them personally and is trying to raise funds for the remaining 75.

Linda plans to take these women to Cape Town to spend time by the ocean.
Other projects he has done includes events to uplift the elderly such as a beauty pageant to find Miss Alex, which was awarded to 76-year-old Thandi Mabena in December 2016, you can see her in the title image above.
A kind donor has come forward and given Linda a figure of R 20 000 to take the group on a trip to Robben Island. This will one of the highlights of their trip, being able to understand what Mandela lived through in the fight for freedom.
