volunteering

Jayden dreams of becoming a vet one day, he spends every free moment he has, volunteering at the Purrpaws for life – Animal shelter in the Vaal area of Gauteng.

A pupil at Emfuleni primary, Jayden is working hard in school and after, to become a vet for animals in need. Animals are such a big part of his life that he uses his spare time to volunteer. When he isn’t volunteering he is campaigning to help them have the best lives possible.

The ‘Purrpaws for life’ shelter has 700 dogs in its care, so Jayden has been campaigning to collect 700 blankets to help keep them all warm this winter. Which if recent tempratures have anything to show, is going to be a very chilly one.

This isn’t the first time he has done a blanket drive, last year he hosted one and collected a whole lot of blackets for the dogs in need.

A young man as passionate about animals as Jayden, is someone worth standing with. We admire Jayden’s passion and dedication deeply! A courageous young man fighting for the rights of shelter animals and never waivering in his efforts is something to celebrate.

“This is one very loving and caring young man, I truly hope that his blanket drive is a huge success.” – Claire Shand

All the details to help support Jayden, can be found in his poster below. The shelter will be accepting all donations at their charity shop so if you have blankets, feel free to drop them off and if you have more, even better! Charity shops thrive on selling second hand goods so those could come in handy too.
