When you think “swimsuit model,” is the first image that comes to mind a 20-year-old woman with bronzed skin, blonde hair, and zero wrinkles? If so, get ready to have your perception of bathing suit modeling totally flipped on its head.

The star of a new swimwear campaign is 60-year-old Yazemeenah Rossi, a silver-haired beauty whose striking portraits are making her the buzz of the fashion world. In the photos, Rossi models swimwear designs from a collaboration between fashion label The Dreslyn and lingerie brand Land of Women, making for a stunning collection of ads that show off both the beautiful bathing suits and Rossi’s elegant modeling skills.

The idea of a model in her sixties shouldn’t be revolutionary, but sadly, it is, though Rossie refuses to let that stop her from this career path.

“When I was younger, I was more insecure,” Rossi told TODAY. “

But I always wanted to be me. When you are yourself and you don’t try to copy, you get power. And you feel that power the more you go on in life.”

Just looking at Rossi’s portraits, you can sense the power she exudes while modeling. Her posture is perfect, her gaze is striking, but she is never hyper-sexualized for a male audience the way so many bikini photo shoots can be.

On top of being a gorgeous 60-year-old model taking her spot in an industry heavily dominated by teens and twenty-somethings, she has opted to keep her hair both long and gray rather than chop and dye it. And The Dreslyn didn’t airbrush out her wrinkles or give her the eerily smooth appearance that many ads featuring famous women typically have — her skin is natural, normal, and beautiful.

Now, if only other brands would follow suit and cast more models of all age ranges.
