Lending a paw for Nelson Mandela Day, SUPERWOOF doggo daycare has tails wagging with an R67 000 fund-raising goal to help shelter dogs. All you need to help? R67—less than two coffees in Cape Town.

Cape Town, South Africa (03 July, 2023) — For a cost less than two coffees in Cape Town, animal lovers can help shelter dogs live their best lives while they wait for their real homes. R67 might not sound like much, but if 1000 people buy ‘two coffees’, SUPERWOOF’s goal of R67 000 for shelter dogs becomes that much more pawssible.

Part of the WOOF Project, Oscars Arc animals will see the benefit of the big Nelson Mandela Day goal. Even if you’ve never met Oscars Arc, you’ve probably fallen in love with their residents already!

Some of their adopted legends are Picasso, South Africa’s most artistic pig, Rupee, the pupper who climbed Mount Everest and Oscar; the world’s ‘most-travelled’ dog who the shelter is named after.

Bounding toward Nelson Mandela Day, the daycare centre for dogs that already have homes is lending a paw for those in waiting. Anyone with R67 can help by buying ‘two coffees’ or by barking about the initiative to fellow caffeinated animal lovers.

You can also pop in and visit the shelter squad who will visit Constantia ahead of Mandela Day.

Meanwhile, Chefs With Compassion also has a 67 000 goal in the pipeline. They are gearing up to cook 67 000 litres of soup for hungry tummies around South Africa, and if you’ve been itching to get busy in the kitchen for a good cause, this is your sign!

We love the big initiatives, but we love initiatives that go beyond Mandela Day even more. There are tons of ways to get involved before, on and beyond Mandela Day, and we’ve got an entire guide for you to choose your impact here.
