Deo is the manager of Cafe Roux, had been saving diligently to buy himself a car and succeeded. Sadly the car was a stolen one and he lost everything.
Deo Rwagasore has been with Cafe Roux in Noordhoek in Cape Town since they opened 10 years ago and worked hard to build his best life. He is an infectiously happy character that brightens everything and everyone around him.
He has been diligently saving his hard earned money to buy himself a car. Years of hard work finally earned him enough to make his dream purchase.

He bought the car of his dreams only to find out that it was registered as stolen. The car was taken away and he lost everything he had worked so hard for.

Unable to see Deo lose his shine, the Cafe Roux team set up a crowdfunding campaign on BackaBuddy to raise the money needed to purchase a new car for Deo. They also put their money where their mouth is and donated R20,000 towards the R100k goal.
In a matter of weeks, the fund has steadily grown and is currently sitting on R 89 048.05. The community shared their love and encouraging words along with their donations to help lift Deo’s spirits.
