Randburg SPCA has started 2021 with a slight headache; one of their vehicles was in an accident and has been written off – They need a helping hand.

Randburg, South Africa (05 February 2021) – Here comes the boom! The Randburg SPCA found themselves receiving a massive blow just a month into 2021. Their maintenance guy Gift, an all-round helpful guy, was driving one of the vehicles when he was involved in an accident.

Thankfully, Gift wasn’t badly injured, and paramedics were able to patch him up and send him on his way. The same cannot be said for the much-needed vehicle.

Sadly the vehicle is a write-off, the damage done is too much for repairs, and their only option now is to scrap the vehicle and get another one.

As mentioned many times before, the SPCA relies solely on donations from businesses and the public. They are reaching out to all their supporters for help to replace the damaged vehicle. They do have insurance, as does the other party involved in the accident but the process will take some time, and they are not sure they will receive enough funds to cover the cost of a new vehicle.

“2021 isn’t holding any punches. Our maintenance, all-around fix-it guru Gift, who keeps the mechanics of the SPCA going, was in an unfortunate road accident.

Our vehicle was hit by another vehicle en-route to the SPCA. We are extremely grateful that his injuries were minor and he has been patched up and is on the road to recovery.

Sadly the same cannot be said for our vehicle the NP300, which has been damaged beyond repair. This vehicle is vital to our operations, and without it, our rescue, outreach and cruelty investigations will be much harder to carry out…

PLEASE this is a plea to car dealerships, rentals, companies and the public, in general, to help sponsor/donate a new pick up to assist the inspectors in their job.

Thank you to our community and supporters.”

If you are able to assist them, you can reach out via their Facebook page here. If you are unable to offer a donation, a nice free way to give back is to select them as a beneficiary on your MySchool card.
