hearing

Little Aimee started losing her hearing for an unknown reason so when the chance to change that came up, her mother turned to crowdfunding.

Aimee had severe hearing loss in both ears from an unknown cause and her left ear’s loss was almost completely gone. A crowdfund was launched to help the family pay for a cochlear implant.

The family raised R 91 424.00 on thier own and then turned to BackaBuddy to make up the last stretch to reach their goal of R100,000.00. The crowdfund was a success and the family managed to raise R 104 799.91.

“We have been handed a miracle and the opportunity for her to gain her hearing, through having a cochlear implant done.  This does cost a lot of money though and we are doing everything in our power to make this dream a reality…any help would be appreciated in a huge way!

Aimee’s implant operation is scheduled for the 12th November, so we are doing all we can to make this a reality.”

Aimee had her operation in December and went for her third mapping session this week. A video was posted online of Aimee hearing for the first time and it will warm your heart.

“We would like to say a HUGE thank you for being part of Aimee’s journey and making this miracle possible!

She is doing better every day and slowly but surely becoming use to this new world that has opened up for her.

From the bottom of our grateful hearts, we thank you!”
