Ice Skating Day

There were a series of warm moments at the ice rink as skaters took on the opportunity to ease some challenges for those less fortunate.

Randburg, South Africa (10 April 2025) — Towards the end of March, a day at the ice rink was filled with warm moments as skaters (some who’d never even imagined gliding on ice before) took to the icy arena to have some fun. Through Kindness Like Confetti and Bet on Better. the ice skating day helped secure Dignity Bags, Groceries, and the opportunity for underprivileged kids to glide and giggle.

Thanks to those who sponsored skating tickets for underprivileged children, the ice-skating day at Northgate set the stage for many wonderful memories (and perhaps the next Naledi Hlalele).

In addition to the kids, participants and community hours learners enjoying the iciest form of fun also helped secure goods for Kindness Like Confetti’s Dignity Bags at the Skating for a Cause charity event.

A non-profit with chapters in Johannesburg and Cape Town, KLC deals in the clay of helping moms, their littlest ones and those who have survived abuse.

When they aren’t organising knit-wear for prem babies or supporting mothers with limited means, the team put together Dignity Bags for survivors.

These bags are filled with a host of essentials—blankets, underwear, toiletries and a pen and notebook to name a few.

In addition; participants also brought non-perishables so that hungry families could have some groceries that they desperately needed.

Three areas of need, one day to support them. And all it took was a few tickets and the willingness to fall on your bum.
