We are heading towards one year since the first hard lockdown and decided to start honouring some of the organisations that saved lives. The Angel Network has played a vital roll in feeding poor communities in Gauteng.
Johannesburg, South Africa (09 March 2021) – It has been a long year for millions of people living in South Africa. We are heading towards the one year mark of when the country went into the first hard lockdown. The mark that sent millions into a spiral of hunger and not knowing where the next meal would come from.
Thankfully, the Angel Network rallied, and the organisation has spent the last year feeding millions of South Africans and foreign nationals by supplying food parcels, stocking soup kitchen pantries and supplying funding to smaller organisations working on the ground in the poorest communities in Gauteng.
Their continued support through feeding programmes has meant many children were able to eat each day, that men and women had the strength to face each unknown and that those who were sick had the strength to pull through and recover.
To this day, one can scroll through the feed on the Angel Network’s Facebook group and see the continued support of feeding programmes.
The Angel Network works is a management organisation partnering with smaller organisations in need of funding and support. They rally their networks for help and then provide the aid needed to support smaller organisations.
One year later, we honour this incredible organisation and encourage you to reach out if you want to lend a helping hand. They worked hard long before the pandemic, and they will work hard long after it!
You can follow their activities via Facebook here and reach out to Glynne Goldberg Wolman via email should you wish to donate.
