The Oudtshroon Dogs in Need team were rocked when they were fined for having very old, worn tyres, their plea for help was answered by a local tyre company.
Oudtshoorn, South Africa (23 June 2022) – The ‘Oudtshoorn Dogs in Need’ team got a massive shock when they got fined for threadbare tyres and had to pay up R300 per tyre. This took a massive chunk of their resources and meant that even more would need to be spent to get new tyres. Thankfully, a generous donor stepped in and helped replace the dangerous tyres.
One of the realities of taking care of unwanted and abandoned animals, is that the funding runs short more often than one would like. This means things like car tyres fall down the list of priorities.
The organisation took to social media to ask for help with the tyres as it was an expense they just couldn’t cover, not after the massive fine. Supporters saw the plea and quickly a plan was made.
“Uncle Jacques got a fine – R300 per tyre .. we begged last month already for help but we didn’t get any.
AND DID YOU KNOW?
Our precious cargo – our staff – is transported home every day ..with such a risk to their lives. Also, this little 430 000 km Bantam collects all the dogs from all over for treatment ..drives them to the Vet and home or back to the kennels again. All the shopping, collections, dumping .. everything is done in this girl”
They really needed a win and they got it when Palm Tyre George reached out to the organisation via the Facebook post and asked them to call the office. Before long, the tyre situation was sorted.
All the local supporters were in awe of the generosity and many shared their own stories of exceptional service given by the Palm Tyre George team.
Many have sent the team their blessings for helping the Oudtshoorn Dogs in Need, become roadworthy once again.
