The Animal Anti-Cruelty League in Cape Town has sent out a plea for a secondhand tumble dryer as the Western Cape winter is leaving them with many wet blankets.
Cape Town, South Africa (29 June 2023) – The Animal Anti-Cruelty League in Cape Town is struggling to get their blankets and towels dried with the extended wet weather currently lashing the Cape. They have sent out a plea for help with a secondhand tumble dryer or donations to purchase one.
The Cape is notorious for wet winters however, there has been very little break between storms and this has left many struggling to cope.
A tumble dryer will help the staff with drying blankets that are used to keep animals warm through the winter months. Both branches
“Our animals and staff rely on air drying all our blankets that we use to keep the animals warm and cozy, this normally works perfectly but with the continuous wet weather we are unable to keep up with the washing demand that both of our branches have, especially with the moist in the air it is taking almost triple the amount of time to complete just one washing load which puts a big strain on our blanket supply”
If you are able to assist, you can reach out to the team via Facebook here or donate using the details below. If you have a blanket or two to spare, those will be welcome too!
