Praised by his choreographer as an exceptional artist with the discipline and artistry of a professional, Jayden Samuels has deservingly earned the chance to perform and compete at the Youth American Grand Prix in Florida.

Johannesburg, South Africa (25 March 2025) – Jayden Samuels, a gifted young ballet dancer from Johannesburg, is looking forward to leaping into what promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in his professional dancing career!

This young talent, who is a member of Joburg Ballet and Joburg Ballet School, has achieved an incredible milestone: qualifying for the finals of a prestigious ballet competition in the USA: the Youth American Grand Prix (YAGP) in Tampa, Florida, from 21-29 April!

According to his choreographer, Mario Gaglione, Jayden has grown into an exceptional artist and was the lead and the inspiration behind his most ambitious production, Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

His discipline, dedication, and artistry rival that of professional dancers, and his presence on stage has captivated audiences night after night.

“I wholeheartedly believe in Jayden’s future in ballet. A prodigy like him deserves the full support of his community,” said Mario.

The only damper to Jayden and his supporters’ spirits is the reality of the significant expenses of the trip, which include travel, visa, and accommodation.

In hopes of helping get Jayden to America, a crowdfunding campaign has been set up on BackaBuddy, where 27% of funds have been raised for the R90,000 goal.

“Your generosity will not only help cover essential expenses but also inspire young South African dancers to believe that with talent and determination, anything is possible,” added Mario.
