Heroic beachgoers have been caught in dramatic footage forming a human chain to help lifeguards rescue three people from drowning.

The astonishing clip was shot in Buenos Aires, Argentina, shows brave lifeguards dashing into the ferocious surf to rescue the trio of struggling swimmers.

During the inspiring video, the camerawoman can be heard saying: “The sea is very strong, they are having problems getting them out of there.”

The lifeguards start to bring the struggling people back to shore but are hampered by huge waves.

That’s when beachgoers leapt into action and formed a human chain to help pull the swimmers and lifeguards to safety.

But in a remarkable moment, determined civilians form a human chain to help bring the lifeguards and rescued people back to shore.

Once everyone is brought back to the shore, onlookers erupt into applause while the heroes exchange hugs in gratitude.
