The Bhambayi Project team have been invited to perform their 2022 hit “Woza Join Us” at the Shark Tank this weekend during the halftime show.

Durban, South Africa (13 October 2022) – Each year, the Bhambayi Project comes up with the best Mandela Day ideas and this year, they have outdone themselves! This year, they wrote an original song with Andrew Sutton and other popular South African artists and choreographed a fun dance to go along with it.

Now, the team have been invited to perform the dance during the halftime show at the Sharks game this weekend. The game will be played at Hollywoodbets Kings Park Stadium aka, the Shark Tank against the Glasgow Warriors.

The Bhambayi Project is a registered non-profit organisation that empowers orphans and vulnerable children. Founded in 2007, the Bhambayi Project remains dedicated to transforming the lives of orphans and vulnerable children through relationships and empowerment. There are over 5 million orphans and vulnerable children in South Africa, and their community-based orphan support model supports children within their own communities and family structures, enabling greater reach than the traditional orphanage model.

They primarily focus on Bhambayi, a community in north Durban, with three components dubbed Special Star, which hones in on orphans and vulnerable children; Rising Star for school leavers; and Guiding Star, which orients around guardians and mentors.

“Woza Join Us” is here forever and goes beyond just Mandela Day, as this weekend’s performance goes to show. It celebrates the unity of South Africa and doing things together.

“The message of the Woza Join Us song is that it doesn’t matter how little you have or how young you are, you can change the world for good. How appropriate that it is some of the most vulnerable in our society giving this message to ignite hope in our city.
The song by the Bhambayi Project features many local South African artists and is sure to get your feet tapping. Don’t miss what is sure to be an impactful half-time performance!” – Mia Venter

The best part is as the song grows in popularity (that is where you come in), all proceeds will go towards transforming the lives of orphans and vulnerable children in South Africa. The song is available on all music platforms, so you can find your favourite one here.

Take a look at the music video below. You can learn the choreography for the dance to join in here. Sbonelo Bhengu provides an easy-to-follow dance tutorial. If you are going to be at the Shark Tank this weekend, be sure to dance along!
