Bietjie Hoop

‘Bietjie Hoop’ was written by Afrikaans band ‘Die Heuvels Fantasties’ in collaboration with the farming company GWK as a tribute for their positivity.

South African farmers have had a tough run these last few years, especially since the drought hit. GWK noticed that even in the face of so much adversity, the tenacity and positivity of South African farmers is even more evident than ever before.

GWK a public, farmer-owned company, operating from the Northern Cape decided to pay tribute to the farmers for all their hard work. They teamed up with Die Heuwels Fantasties in writing and recording a song for the farmers of South Africa.

“This reconfirmed the GWK belief and core message – farmers are heroes,”

“We see what you are doing, we admire you and everything will be okay,”

“What better way to convey this message than through music, the universal language that touches people on a deep emotional level.” – Neil de Klerk, Executive Head, Marketing and Communications

Die Heuwels Fantasties loved writing the song and said it practically wrote itself. They were in the process of writing and recording their latest album so they added the song to that as well.

“We are proud of the song and only good can come of it,” – Pierre Greeff, Lead Singer: Die Heuwels Fantasties

“The production team feels privileged to have been part of this tribute to our farming heroes. We hope that this message will reach each farmer and tell them we see what you are doing, we admire you and everyone needs a little hope,” – Neil de Klerk
