rare disease

Ruan Lamprecht cycled 50km’s to raise money for Zeake Swart, who was diagnosed with a rare disease along with fighting Leukaemia. He wanted to make things easier for the family.

Ruan Lamprecht is a young man with a generous heart and soul. He strives to do good and decided to take on the cause of raising money for Zeake Swart, a little champion fighting two health battles.

Zeake Swart has been battling Leukaemia for some time and was sadly diagnosed with another rare disease, Juvenile Xanthogranuloma, in 2017. Her mother started a Facebook page to keep friends and family updated on her results and recovery. Ruan had heard of her struggles and decided to raise funds to help the family.

Zeake was a phenomenal athlete so Ruan decided to push himself and cycle 50km in her name to raise money. He enrolled for the Ductus Exellentiam Leadership Challenge at his school, which included both a physical and a fundraising challenge.

He completed both his challenges on the 9th of December and managed to raise R24,500.00 for Zeake. Zeake was so grateful for the donation.

“A huge thank you, Ruan. I truly appreciate your amazing effort!” – Zeake Swart

Her mother shared the news on the Facebook page and all the followers were so proud of Ruan and his generosity.

“We’re so proud of Ruan! An amazing effort by an awesome young man!! Many blessings!!!” – Susan Swart, Mother of Zeake

The children are our future and with wonderful young men like Ruan, we can have faith that we are in good hands.
