Zavion dreams of flying his own plane one day but while he battles Retinoblastoma the Reach For a Dream Foundation gave this dreamer the best day ever!

Stellenbosch, South Africa (06 November 2023) – 4-year-old Zavion had the best dream day, surrounded by planes and getting to open gifts chosen just for him.

Dream Days are what the Reach for a Dream Foundation lives for. The organisation works to surprise sickly children, often enduring terminal diseases and illness, with a day of their dreams. This helps each child, feel like a child again, even just for a day!

Reach For A Dream is a leading non-profit organisation, to help children fight a serious disease by making their dreams – such as swimming with dolphins, meeting an idol or celebrity or getting a new doll house – come true. This not only gives these youngsters and their families an invaluable respite from daily stressors associated with ill health but stirs up much-needed courage and hope, helping these little ones believe that tomorrow is worth fighting for.

Young Zavion is one of the lucky dreamers who was blessed ith a day of fun. He has been battling Retinoblastoma and despite his struggles, he still dreams of being a pilot when he is older. The foundation made that dream come true recently.

They shared his story on the Facebook page, which is filled with tales of hope and children getting the chance to be children!

“Zavion is an energetic 4-year-old who is battling Retinoblastoma. He’s a fan of shows like Bluey and PJ Masks, has a fascination with dinosaurs and Jack Russell dogs, and aspires to be a pilot when he grows up.”

“Recently, Zavion’s dream took flight—literally! We whisked him away to the Stellenbosch Flying Club, where Stuart and the team welcomed him with open arms. Decked out in a full flying suit complete with badges and gadgets, Zavion embarked on an unforgettable journey in the sky, viewing their home from a whole new perspective.”

“And we weren’t done just yet! We surprised him with a hamper filled with all his favourite Bluey swag. But the real icing on the cake was when we unveiled his dream – a Bubblegum tablet so he could play all his favourite games anytime he wished! “

“So, let’s hear it for Zavion, who not only touched the sky but also our hearts!”

These dreams make all the difference for the children and their families. They ignite hope, joy and bring peace. If you would like to support dreams like this one, you can find out more via the website here.
