Brian Royalson Mdunge The guy who proposed because the Boks won (and then went missing) has been found!

South African who promised to propose if the Boks won and then went missing when they did… has finally been found!

South Africa – It’s a story that gripped the nation and landed up on the front pages of mainstream media news! Brian Royalson Mdunge posted on the #ImStaying group that he would propose to his girlfriend if the Boks won just mere minutes before the final match started… and then went missing for days after they did!

Mdunge racked up more than 8 000 comments and 13 000 likes after stating to the nation that he would propose on the #ImStaying group.

“If the Springboks wins today’s World Cup Final match I’ll propose my woman to marry me. #inspiredByBokkies #imStaying”

And then the Boks were crowned as World Champions and Mdunge went missing!

Hundreds of #ImStaying members started a social media search party, asking where Mdunge had gone, why he was missing and why he was so quiet? The group members all got involved with the conversation speculating as to what happened to the Bok proposer.

And then on Tuesday morning, Mdunge took to the #ImStaying group again to explain what had happened since the Bok win!

“Hello Mzansi sorry to keep you waiting so long, but the lady rejected my proposal in front of my friends she said she’s not ready. I’m too embarrassed.”

A sad state of affairs for Mdunge but the #ImStaying group proved again why we are Stronger Together.

Since posting the update, South Africans on the group are offering love, kindness and support (with a few other proposals thrown in as well).

“Sorry Brian … She’s not ready now, if her unreadiness has to do with you, work on that… If not, give her time… She rejected the proposal, Not you! All the best bro..” – Zan Makoti

“I’m so sad to read this news. But she did not altogether say No. So hang in there, should your spirit tell you she’s worth waiting for. Amen. You stay blessed. Mwaj” – Theresa Davids

“Not ready doesn’t mean no. It means not ready. I know someone who proposed to his wife 3 times before she said yes. They have been married 14 or 15 years with 3 beautiful sons and are the happiest couple I know.” – Ilana Bernstein

“I’m sorry, but you are a true man by coming back on Tuesday, and you can choose someone right here, many singles, including me.” – Glynic Nkhensani

“Dude well done. You dodged a bullet. Now your happy days begin. Drinks on me Friday to celebrate such a miracle.” – Lesiba Tlomatsana
