A post has been shared on Facebook announcing that the Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust will be using the prize fund to help out the families and victims of the fires in Imizamo Yethu. The Cycle Tour will also be donating water to DARG the animal rescue group.

“The Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust will donate the 2017 prize fund of R220 000 to the relief efforts of those affected by the fires in Imizamo Yethu in Hout Bay. We are also donating water bottles to DARG (the Domestic Animal Rescue Group) who are saving and caring for animals from those affected areas.”

The tour has gone above and beyond to bring a positive out of the cancelled race, their charitable efforts have been outstanding and the differences they have made so far are huge!

This donation of R220,000.00 will change the lives of hundreds of people who lost their homes, possessions and even animals. It should be enough to help start the rebuild of the community.
