With a big heart, tiny Geraldine Adams walks miles “risking my life on busy streets” and feeds over 170 dogs and 40 cats each day.
Cape Town, South Africa (25 May 2021) – 68-year-old Geraldine Adams of Macassar, Cape Town, has become a pillar of the community whole-heartedly taking care of animals who are left to fend for themselves on the streets.
She has won over the hearts of many South Africans in particular since she devotes nearly half of her pension fund to feeding and caring for street dogs and cats.
With a big heart, tiny Adams walks miles “risking my life on busy streets” and feeds over 170 dogs and 40 cats each day. She has dedicated all her efforts to ensure all the animals are taken care of.
The dogs have been used to waiting for her out in the open, even though it is raining.
“Seeing the dogs and cats eat and appear satisfied makes me happy,” says Adams.
” I don’t want praise for my good deeds. It’s my passion, I’ve been doing it for years,”
Gigi Roper, who works under charity to ease the plight of animals, will support Adams to salvage the animals.
Roper says she’s collecting money to assist Adams in sterilizing and feeding the animals and donating kennels in the neighbourhood to offer protection for some of the dogs and keep them off chains.
Essential health treatment, such as deworming and tick and flea medication, as well as puppy vaccines.
It would change the lives of many animals by providing food and shelter. It would also provide transportation for Adams, allowing her to get to the animals more quickly and keeping her secure on the road.
“We will give animals basic health treatment, such as deworming and tick and flea medication, as well as puppy vaccines. The funds will be used to sterilize 20 animals,” says Roper.
Roper’s plan is to include food, vaccines, and kennels for even more puppies, as well as release the dogs off their chains that keep them contained.
