While we laugh at the Cape wind funnies, we also noticed the helpers!

The mother city has been battered by winds, and it has made the lives of Capetonians rather difficult, videos have been shared of the wind and we saw so much good!

Cape Town, South Africa (21 January 2020) – It is terrifying being whipped by a heavy wind. From personal experience, you find the nearest thing to hang onto and just scream until it’s over. But, once it is over, you literally stand there laughing unable to believe you have survived the spell.

Over the last few days, Cape Town has been swept up by some of the strongest winds to date. It has been called the Black South-easter and has wracked havoc by uprooting trees and ripping roofs off.

Videos have been captured of people hilariously battling the winds around the MyCiti Bus Central Station. This area is notoriously gusty and even has special poles in place for people to hold onto while waiting to cross the roads.

Watching people struggle through the winds can be quite entertaining, and one can’t help but have a giggle. But while watching the videos currently doing the rounds, we also could help but notice the helpers.

From people banding together to walk arm in arm to others running into the middle of the road to help a struggling bike rider, our hearts beam with pride watching the helpers do their small bit of good!

Thankfully, it is said the winds will calm down and life can go on as normal.
