Ever had that moment where your arms are overflowing, and a helping hand magically appears? That’s the daily reality for Stephan, founder of Charity Begins With Me, thanks to the unsung heroes: car guards.
Johannesburg, South Africa (28 February 2025) – Car guards are one of those special service providers whose kindness and helpful hands have a way of easily making your day when your hands are full.
Charity Begins With Me (CBWM) founder Stephan considers himself indebted to the special car guards who are always ready to help him with his heavy loads of groceries, which help feed the children in informal settlements.
Stephan recently took to his social media to share images that simply warm the heart! A group of car guards are seen eagerly helping him with the trolley loads of fruits and vegetables, which he would otherwise have to offload into his car all by himself.
Stephan explained that people are often perplexed by his full trollies every week until he explains what it is that he actually does for those in need.
“What is extremely special is the car guards waiting for me outside without fail. They know what we do and are always ready to help. It really does take an army to do what we do. This is not a one man show. So many incredible people behind me helping and doing their part.
This special moment beautifully captures South Africans’ natural inclination to help one another in any way they can. And what makes this even more special is the many hands coming together to play their often-overlooked role in a greater cause, to help children in need get the nutrients their growing bodies need.
This story isn’t just about groceries; it’s about the power of community!
