tyre rainfall flooding

Hennie Muller found himself in an unfortunate predicament when his tyre went flat on a busy road, after dark and in the pouring rain… thankfully he had some help

Randburg, Johannesburg – Johannesburg is getting some much needed rain before the dry winter season kicks in. Every drop of rain is valuable at this point but it isn’t fun when you are stuck on the side of the road trying to change a tyre.

Hennie Muller had to pull over in the dark while it was pouring with rain to change his bakkies tyre. He was struggling and getting drenched when a car pulled up to help him.

“In the must needed rainy wet on the evening of Friday 8th Feb 19 our bakkie got a flat tyre in busy Church street. It was not a nice experience. On my own, I would not have been able to change it.

Firstly two gentlemen by the name of Stephen and Shadrack started to help. It was raining hard and the three of us were trying to lift the car, by getting the jack underneath to get it hight enough.”

The three men worked hard and fast to get the spare tyre on so they could get out of the rain. That is when a taxi pulled over to offer help.

“Well while we were working in the dark, with one torch, trying to stop fast approaching cars, with no respect for hazards flashing ahead, another caring man appeared, with his taxi. His name is -‘SOUS’.”

Once they got the spare tyre fitted, Hennie went to thank the men for assisting him. He wanted to take photos and praise the men for their efforts. “Sous” the taxi driver insisted he didn’t need the praise, nor money as a thank you and was just doing what was right.

“HE WANTED NO photos of him, nor any recognition or money. HE got soaking wet. Quickly the spare tyre was on the car and we could move again. New hope for SA.”

Hennie ended of his post advising people to make sure they had all the nessicary tools in their car to change a tyre no matter the weather.
