Balls an’ All tragically lost their home after a massive storm over the weekend, the building was struck by lightning and burned to the ground.
Gauteng, South Africa – An animal charity in Walkerville, Gauteng has had a rough weekend. The charity, known as Balls an’ All was struck by lightning over the weekend during a storm and burned to the ground.
Balls an’ All is a community pet sterilisation service that works to eradicate unwanted litters within communities. By neutering and spaying animals, they stop the number of unwanted animals that end up in shelters or living on the streets.
The charity’s premises was turned to ash, leaving the family living on the property with only the clothing on their backs.
Several nearby communities heard the bad news and quickly rallied to replace some of what was lost. People from Walkerville, Henley on Klip, Klipriver, Three Rivers, and even from neighbouring provinces got involved in helping the family.
The Sedibeng District news shared the happy news about how everyone collected donations for the family. Ron and Vanessa were left speechless at the amount of love they have received from the different communities.
The SPAR in Walkerville has donated R10,000 to the family as well while they try to get back on their feet. The animals have all been moved to safety and will be kept at various organisations until Ron can take the animals back.
The charity page is unresponsive at the moment while Ron and Vanessa work to come to terms with everything, but anyone wishing to assist them can send a message to the Balls an’ All page where it will be dealt with in due time.
